Terms of Service
Last updated 2 September 2026
Tixy lets people create an event and sell tickets to it. These terms explain how Tixy works, what we do, what organisers and guests agree to, and where responsibility sits. Please read them: by using Tixy you agree to them.
1. Who we are
Tixy is operated by Eventotron Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 13923634, with its registered office at 86-90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE, United Kingdom. In these terms “Tixy”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Eventotron Ltd.
“Organisers” are the people or organisations who create events and sell tickets through Tixy. “Guests” are the people who buy or receive those tickets. “You” means whichever of these you are. Sections 4 to 7 apply to organisers, sections 8 to 10 apply to guests, and everything else applies to everyone.
2. What Tixy is
Tixy is a platform. Organisers use it to publish an event page, take payment for tickets and manage their guests. Guests use it to buy tickets and receive them by email.
Tixy is not the seller of any ticket. When you buy a ticket, your contract for the event is with the organiser, who is responsible for putting the event on, for its content and for honouring the ticket. Tixy provides the technology and, through our payment provider, collects payment on the organiser’s behalf.
3. Accounts and eligibility
- You must be at least 18 to organise an event on Tixy. Guests must be at least 16.
- Organisers sign in with a link we email them or with Sign in with Apple. Keep access to that email account secure: anyone who can read it can act on your Tixy account.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account.
- The details you give us must be accurate and kept up to date. We may suspend or close an account that uses false information.
4. Organisers: your event and your responsibilities
As an organiser you promise that:
- you have the right to sell tickets to the event and to use any images or text you upload;
- the information on your event page is accurate, including the date, time, venue, ticket prices, capacity and any age or entry restrictions;
- the event is lawful, and you hold any licences, permissions and insurance it needs;
- you will deliver the event as described, or handle refunds in line with our refunds policy if you cannot;
- you are responsible for any taxes, including VAT, on your ticket sales, and for any consumer-law obligations you have to your guests;
- you will use guests’ personal data only to run the event and communicate about it, and in line with data protection law. For your guests’ data you are an independent controller; our privacy policy explains how we handle it.
We may unpublish or remove an event that breaks these terms, without notice where the matter is serious.
5. Fees and payouts
- Creating an event is free. When a paid order completes, Tixy charges a fee of 3.5% of the order total, with a minimum of 60p per order (or the equivalent minimum in other currencies shown at checkout). Payment processing is included.
- The fee is deducted from the amount paid, so your guests pay only the ticket price you set. There are no booking fees, monthly charges or setup costs.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. To receive money you must complete Stripe’s onboarding, which creates a connected account in your name, and you agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Tixy pays out your proceeds for an event seven days after it ends, once Stripe’s identity checks are complete. Earlier payouts are not available.
- If a payment is refunded, Tixy returns its fee on that order. If a payment is disputed or charged back, the disputed amount and any dispute fee charged by the card scheme or Stripe may be recovered from your balance or future payouts.
- We may change the fee with at least 30 days’ notice. Changes never apply to orders already placed.
6. Refunds, cancellations and changes to events
You decide your own refund policy within the law, and you handle refund requests from your guests. Tixy gives you tools to refund an order in full or in part; refunds go back to the guest’s original payment method.
If you cancel an event, or change its date or venue in a way that materially affects guests, you must tell every ticket holder promptly and offer a refund to anyone who cannot attend. Where an organiser fails to do so, we may refund guests from the organiser’s balance.
7. Content you upload
You keep ownership of the images and text you add to Tixy. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and reproduce that content in order to run the service, including showing it on your event page, in tickets and emails, and in link previews. The licence ends when the content is removed, except where copies remain in backups or in emails already sent.
8. Guests: buying tickets
- Your contract for the event is with the organiser named on the event page. Tixy processes your order and sends your tickets.
- The price you see is the price you pay. Tixy adds no booking fee. Any discount code is applied before payment.
- Tickets are held for you for 15 minutes while you pay. If payment does not complete in that time, they go back on sale.
- Your tickets are emailed to the address you give at checkout and are also available on the order page linked from that email. Check the address carefully.
- Each ticket carries a unique code that is scanned once at the door. Keep it safe: whoever presents it first will be admitted.
- You may pass a ticket on to someone else, but you may not resell tickets for more than their face value or advertise them for sale where the organiser prohibits this.
9. Guests: refunds and cancelled events
Because a ticket is for a specific date, the usual 14-day right to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply. Refunds are otherwise at the organiser’s discretion and under their policy. If an event is cancelled, you are entitled to a refund of the ticket price from the organiser. Our refunds policy explains how to ask for one. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
10. Acceptable use
You must not use Tixy to:
- list an event that does not exist, or take payment for something you cannot deliver;
- break the law, infringe anyone’s rights, or promote hatred, violence or discrimination;
- impersonate another person or organisation;
- upload malicious code, scrape the service, or interfere with its operation or security;
- send unsolicited marketing to guests, or use their details for anything beyond the event;
- create fraudulent orders, test stolen cards, or attempt to launder money.
To report an event or account that breaks these rules, email [email protected].
11. Our intellectual property
Tixy, the sparkle mark and the Tixy and Eventotron names and logos belong to Eventotron Ltd. The software, design and text of the service are protected by copyright and other laws. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell any part of the service except as the law allows. Organisers may say that their event is “ticketed with Tixy” and use the share tools we provide.
12. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep Tixy available around the clock, but we cannot promise it will always be free of faults or interruptions. We may add, change or withdraw features. If we plan to withdraw the service altogether we will give organisers with future events reasonable notice and make their guest lists available to them.
13. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Subject to that, we are not responsible for the events themselves: their quality, safety, content, cancellation or postponement, or for any organiser’s acts or omissions. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when you started using Tixy, for loss of profit or business, or for losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
To organisers, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability arising from the service in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.
If you use Tixy as a consumer, these limits do not affect your legal rights, including your right to receive a service performed with reasonable care and skill.
14. Organiser indemnity
Organisers agree to compensate us for any loss, claim or cost we suffer because of their event, their content, their breach of these terms or their breach of the law, including claims from guests, venues, rights holders and authorities.
15. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Tixy at any time. Email [email protected] to close your account; orders already placed will still be honoured and refunded where due. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or presents a fraud, legal or security risk. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as fees owed, content licences, liability and indemnity, survive.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. For significant changes we will email organisers or show a notice in the app before they take effect. Using Tixy after a change means you accept the new terms.
17. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and you benefit from any mandatory protections of the law where you live.
If you have a complaint, please email us first at [email protected]; most problems are quickest to fix that way. The EU online dispute resolution platform is not available for UK traders, and we are not obliged to use alternative dispute resolution.
